Glynn Nance
Nance & Simpson LLP

Glynn Nance is a founding partner of his firm and has practiced law for over 28 years.   He regularly advises clients on a wide variety of legal topics including business formation, mergers and acquisitions, executive employment and deferred compensation, estate planning for closely held business owners, and business and tax planning.

Mr. Nance is Board Certified in Tax Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He received his Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in Taxation from the University of Houston Law Center in addition to his Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree.

Mr. Nance was licensed to practice in 1992, and since that time, he has provided quality legal services to Houston businesses and their owners.

Beginning his career serving as a law clerk on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, Bill Maines has extensive trial experience representing corporations and individuals in state and federal court and domestic and international arbitrations. His practice focuses on disputes arising from complex business and commercial transactions, energy insurance coverage, oil and gas well operations and professional and fiduciary relationships.  Before joining his present firm, Bill began his law practice with Fulbright & Jaworski, LLP, where he was named as a partner.

Bill represents and advises energy companies, energy insurance underwriting syndicates, lawyers and law firms, corporate directors and officers, oilfield service companies, financial institutions and a world-class medical and research institution. Understanding that litigation can be an art form, Bill believes wise judgment, technical experience and meticulous preparation make the difference in achieving successful results for his clients. 


Susan Taylor
Taylor Law Group

Susan Taylor began practicing law in Texas in 1985 with a primary concentration in business, real estate, and commercial litigation and bankruptcy.  She is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

Ms. Taylor has significant trial experience in both state and federal courts. She has successfully represented businesses, banking institutions, title companies and others involving contract and lease disputes, land title and easement matters, employment disputes, commercial and residential real estate matters. Her experience includes representing clients in business asset acquisitions, business asset sales, and helping troubled companies complete work-outs with financial institutions and creditors.

She is licensed to practice law in Texas, United States District Courts, in the Southern, Northern, and Western Districts of Texas, and before the United States Supreme Court. She graduated from the University of Houston with a law degree in 1985. Her preparatory education is from Drake University (B.A.1975; M.A.1978).

John L. Graves
Graves & Co. Consulting LLC

John Graves has 36 years of experience in exploration & production and oil & gas consulting. He began his career as a roughneck for Grey Wolf Drilling, and joined Texoil Company as a field landman, focusing on South Louisiana. He spent 15 years with Texoil, rising to president and chief operating officer, and helping to take Texoil public. During his tenure, Texoil expanded its exploration efforts into coastal Texas and its acquisition efforts into Argentina.

He founded Graves & Co. in 1996 as the first buy-side M&A service and support firm in the industry, providing due diligence, valuations, negotiation support and acquisition sourcing, along with front line and back-office support to E&P companies in the form of land, accounting, gas marketing and regulatory services. Graves & Co’s. buy-side M&A services expanded into the oilfield service and midstream sectors, and most recently, the downstream sector. Graves & Co’s work has involved assets in every major basin in the Lower 48 States, the Outer Continental Shelf, the Cook Inlet, offshore West Africa, and onshore Argentina and Guatemala.  In 2017, John brought his reservoir engineering needs in-house with the formation of Graves & Co. Consulting, a full service professional reservoir engineering firm that works on projects worldwide.
